Welcome to Mama’s Secret Scribbles!
Even before becoming a Mom, I thought I could only write if I was in a deeply reflective space—or extremely upset. Journaling felt more like a chore most days, something reserved for big emotions or life’s confusing moments.
Then, I became a Mom, and my time dwindled to doing everything “in-between” whenever my baby needed me. Life didn’t give me those perfect reflective moments anymore. I stopped journaling regularly, only picking it up occasionally to work through difficult feelings. Most of the time, I was just too exhausted.
Right now, we’re going through a big PCS (that’s a move, in civilian terms), and it’s been tough. I’m solo-parenting an amazing toddler, but without my partner, the days are feeling longer. I’ve been needing an outlet (and more sleep, if I’m honest).
So, I started jotting down whatever I’m feeling in those small moments in between—quick thoughts, little moments, scribbles. You should see my notebook. It has no lines. It’s full of thoughts, cross-outs, colors, and chaos, but I love it. Writing by hand connects me to my thoughts in a way I crave, even if I wish it came at the speed of a thousand pens.
Sometimes, all I need is a word or two, a phrase, or a feeling, written down without needing to be polished or perfect. Maybe you need that, too?
So here we are—Mama’s Secret Scribbles!
I’m grateful to have you here in my little corner of the internet.
